For this completed HANDLD job, the starting point was a blank painted concrete wall above a wooden console, with a soundbar already positioned on the console. The goal was to mount the new Samsung TV securely, level it above the console and connect it for use.

HANDLD used the customer-supplied mounting hardware. The work included drilling masonry holes, securely anchoring the wall plate, levelling the bracket, hanging and securing the TV, connecting the power and AV leads, testing the display and cleaning the work area.

The result was a large, level wall-mounted TV that was powered and functional. Because there was no in-wall conduit near the mounting location, the cables were routed externally rather than concealed inside the wall.

That last detail is worth planning in advance: the cable route affects the finished appearance and can influence decisions about TV and furniture placement.

Planning placement before drilling the concrete wall

Once holes have been drilled into concrete, changing the TV position creates unnecessary additional work. It makes sense to settle the viewing position first.

A common starting point is to position the centre of the screen approximately 42–48 inches from the floor for seated viewing, then adjust for the room, furniture and viewing position.
